Practice Space

We work at a rented makerspace to build our robots. As a community team we bring together people from across Southern Arizona to downtown Tucson.

At this space we have 3D printers, a CNC machine, a Milling machine, and many other industrial machines that allow us to design and fabricate our robot every season.

Community Outreach

We have visited many schools around Tucson, including Lineweaver and Presidio School, to exhibit our robot and encourage students to have fun in STEM and join FIRST robotics programs. We also started and coach several FIRST Lego League teams to introduce young students to FIRST and STEM.

FLL

Beyond FRC, the Bit Buckets support FIRST at every level. We've mentored 2 FLL teams to state qualification, started and mentor 4 FLL Explore and Challenge teams at a Title I school, and run an additional FLL course at a local community center to bring robotics to even more students.

We have worked with schools and the public library in the small town of Eagar, Arizona, prompting them to start a Vex Robotics team and eventually an FRC team - elkSPLOSION. We presented our robot at the Dusk Music Festival, at Second Saturday (a festival hosted in downtown Tucson), local malls, several small businesses, the Craft fair, and the University of Arizona Homecoming - all within the last year. By actively engaging with our community, we hope to spread interest in STEM and FIRST robotics programs.
